The Path Less Travelled

My thoughts on the physical education system as it stands today are varied. On one hand we live in a time where exercise and health as a lifestyle has gained massive popularity as a counter to the rising inactivity epidemic, and on the other is being cut out of schools in favour of the classic academic subjects. I believe that in many cases our schools are not preparing children for the day which physical activity and responsibility over their health rests in their hands, leaving these children and future adults without the skill set to partake in healthy lifestyles. My goal as a physical educator is to use my knowledge of alternate environments as an introduction to sustainable lifelong enjoyment of personal health and physicality while in an outdoor setting.
